We are delighted to have the opportunity to have San Diego Ballet come to Billings this year. Their return also means dancers get to perform with the Billings Symphony and perform in the newly remodeled Alberta Bair Theater. It's a wonderful experience that we are grateful to share with all of Montana.
All dancers in the Billings area are invited to attend auditions. Rehearsals will typically be held each Saturday (*note: some rehearsals will be the same day as auditions*). The performances occur over the Thanksgiving weekend. Below is the schedule of rehearsals. There is a $10 audition fee per dancer.
Along with the Nutcracker Ballet performance in November, SCB will be hosting the Nutcracker Tea Party event in December. Dancers who come to audition for the Nutcracker Ballet will also be viewed by studio teachers for casting in our Nutcracker Tea Party. Please come to the audition with this added opportunity in mind. Are you going to be gone for Thanksgiving break? Still come to audition and notify the staff that you are auditioning for the Tea Party only.

4:30-6:00 - Ages 10+ for students 4'8 -5'6
Garlands, Ladies in Waiting, Jr. Rats, Sr. Soldiers, Russian Bears, Clara, Prince, Party Boys & Girls. (Girls picked for party scene will need to stay for the next audition.)
6:00-7:30 - Ages 6+ for students - 4'2 - 4'7"
Party Boys & Girls, Fritz, Gingersnaps, Candy Canes, Jr. Soldiers, Sheep
Saturday - September 18
9-10:15 - Class TBA
10:30-11:30 - Ages 13+ 5'2+ (advanced level girls w/pointe shoes)
Petals, Snow, Garlands, Ladies in Waiting, possible variations and/or understudies for variations.
11:30-12:00 - Ages 6+ for students Under 4'2
Baby Dolls, Baby Rats, Sugar-babes, Sheep
Mandatory Rehearsals for ALL dancers chosen for these parts must be able to attend the following final rehearsals with San Diego Ballet to learn choreography in addition to the regular weekly rehearsals. These rehearsals are at Montana Dance Center and dress rehearsals at the Alberta Bair Theater (ABT).
