Since its inception, the School of Classical Ballet has been dedicated to providing quality dance instruction appropriate for the age and physical development of each student. The School provides a diversified program that meets not only the needs of those who seek a fun, creative, and challenging environment, but also those who wish to pursue a professional dance career.
The School of Classical Ballet offers classes in a variety of dance genres, allowing dancers to pursue one primary dance style or to branch out and find diversity and range in their abilities. With ballet as a foundation, dancers can go anywhere. Our current offerings include Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop,Tap, Pre Ballet, Musical Theater, Movers, and Mini Movers. We also offer Yoga, Conditioning, Hand/Floor, Partnering, Adult Classes, and Social Classes.
In addition to classes, Master Classes, Camps, Workshops, and Intensives, we offer multiple worthwhile performance opportunities for all students and additional choreographic and performance opportunities for dancers who want to be more engaged and encouraged to pursue the stage.
History
Since 1970, School of Classical Ballet in Billings, Montana, has offered high quality dance education to dancers of all ages. The School was founded by current co-director Betty Loos, and shortly joined in directorship by Jana Stockton, helping to establish a legacy of classical dance and dance for children in Yellowstone County. Jana and Betty positively affected the lives of thousands of students of all ages for several decades before partnering with Julia Marble-Blass. Now, Julia and Betty as well as all of the talented and dedicated teachers of SCB continue in their goal to pass on decades of knowledge and love for dance to generation after generation of bright young dancers. Students who have trained at SCB have gone on to prestigious summer programs, high-quality colleges and universities, and professional dance companies.

The School resides at the gorgeous and welcoming studio spaces located at Montana Dance Center, 701 Daniel Street, in Billings The Center has four sizeable studios with state-of-the-art sprung floors covered in marley, which is the flooring designed specifically for dance. The Center offers a lot to us including the kitchen and dining area, stretch room, and comfortable waiting area for parents. We are grateful to be part of MDC and take advantage of this incredible space. There is nowhere else like it so come see for yourself!
