
Aryn Reid

Reid comes to Billings, Montana from the Bitterroot Valley. While there she taught at Groovz Studio of Dance for of five years. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop.
As a student, she won overall trophies in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap. In 2013 her tap group won 4th place at the National Spotlight Dance Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has performed at the following competitions: Spotlight Dance Cup, Kids Artistic Review, and Team Dance. Her skill extends beyond creating dances for competitions and recitals; some of her favorite work came while choreographing for local productions such as: Annie, Much Ado About Nothing, Thoroughly Modern Milly, and Frozen.
Reid loves to see the spark in a students' eye when they learn something new or overcome a challenge. She is in the process of becoming PBT certified and furthering her education in early childhood development. She is excited to teach and continue learning at MDC.

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking which was created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

The class focuses on the dancers relationship with other dancers also the floor (the floor as partner); practices centrifugal, spiraling and serpentine movements in order to move economical; involves breathing dynamic and the release of energy throughout the body as a motor of movement.

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms.
