Lisa Oppegaard
Lisa grew up dancing in Billings, Montana, where she trained at both the School of Classical Ballet and Tracy’s School of Dance. As a student, she treasured her time at MDAA, which offered her meaningful scholarship opportunities and helped shape her early dance journey. After high school, Lisa moved to San Diego, California, where she was invited to dance with Unity Dance Ensemble, a contemporary jazz company under the direction of renowned choreographer Tessandra Chavez. Her time in California deepened her love for contemporary and jazz styles through rigorous training and performance opportunities.

SCB's Jazz classes explore the foundational techniques and stylized movements made famous by legends like Bob Fosse, Jack Cole, Luigi, and Gus Giordano. Dancers will develop strength, coordination, and musicality through isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and classic choreography, emphasizing clean lines, strong posture, and the authentic jazz spirit.
